Programs

Kiddie Koop specializes in providing children with a safe and supportive environment that encourages exploration and learning. We also strive to build strong physical and social development through outdoor playtimes throughout the year in our fully equipped and supervised playgrounds. Kiddie Koop serves infant through kindergarten-aged children, and offers both full-time and drop-in care. Parents are kept well informed of their child’s activities. Kiddie Koop staff provide observations and assessments of each child’s development and create, as necessary, an individualized activity and education plan tailored to meet the specific needs of each child.

Infants

- Ages 2 to 15 months -
The most impressionable time in life is the infant stage. Infants are full of natural curiosity, absorbing all the tactile and visual stimuli around them.

Kiddie Koop Infant Room staff provide the individualized care and security your baby needs to thrive and grow in their own unique way. We enrich your baby’s environment with soft toys, colorful books and music throughout his or her typical day.

Typical Day
There is no “typical day” for an infant – each child is unique. But, during the course of a day, here is an example of some of the activities that will stimulate your child’s growth as well as care for his or her needs.

  • Music
  • Water play
  • Puzzles
  • Story time
  • Free play
  • Outside play
  • Exercise
  • Snacks, bottles and meals
  • Diaper changes
  • Naps

Toddlers

- Ages 15 months to 2.9 years -
Toddlers are beginning to think through their actions, solve problems and understand language. To a toddler, everything is “why?” and exploring the unknown. They thrive on new experiences, so we provide them with a caring and stimulating environment that allows each child to develop naturally, individually and happily. Kiddie Koop’s Toddler Room teachers are special people – skilled professionals who are loving, understanding and “still have a bit of the toddler in them.” They thrive on getting down on the floor with the children and engaging them in their own world, helping them to explore and delight in the world around them.

Daily progress reports give you information on care routines like eating, napping and diapering throughout your toddler’s typical day.

Typical day
A toddler’s typical day allows him or her the time and attention they need to follow their curiosity and explore the unknown, while also providing the structure and care that builds trust and confidence. Typical activities include:

  • Free play
  • Story time
  • Finger play
  • Art
  • Outside play
  • Table activities
  • Snacks and meals
  • Naps
  • Wash hands and bathroom time

Preschool

Every day is an adventure for a preschooler, as they rapidly become masters of their own universe. Kiddie Koop provides the dedicated and talented staff, the materials and the equipment that preschoolers need to explore their rapidly-expanding world. Enriching activities in language and creative arts, math, nature study, and dramatic play insure that your preschooler is developing the skills they will need for success in their school days.

Typical day
The preschooler is starting to get more serious about life – becoming ready for the real world of school – while still thriving on the loving care and support for their individual needs that Kiddie Koop provides. Preschool activities include:

  • Circle and calendar
  • Learning activities in science, math, nature study, language arts
  • Outdoor play

  • Free play
  • Snacks and meals

Kindergarten

Kiddie Koop’s private kindergarten program offers smaller class size and more individualized attention than most elementary schools. Children continue to build the intellectual, social and physical skills that were introduced in the preschool program, but in a slightly more structured environment. Language arts, science, math skills, crafts, and dramatic play are all taught in a fun and interesting way that fosters self-esteem and a lifelong love of learning.

Typical day
Because of the small class size and quality of the program, graduates of Kiddie Koop’s kindergarten program tend to enter first grade at a slightly higher learning level than their public school counterparts. Typical activities include:

  • Supervised free play
  • Circle and calendar
  • Reading and math readiness
  • Outdoor play
  • Story time
  • Snacks and meals
  • Clean up
  • Theme-based activity
  • Nap and/or quiet rest
