Salem Center

Our Salem center is convenient to Route 114 and offers, via the Kernwood Bridge, traffic-free access from Beverly and North Salem. For the convenience of our local parents, the Kiddie Koop van is available to transport children to and from the center.

Architecturally designed renovations to the Salem center have been made with care given to the best of day care center design and safety. The high ceilings and open rooms, with dividers rather than walls, facilitate interaction between teachers and children, yet offers continuous supervision by the Director. The facility accommodates 60 children.

At Kiddie Koop we understand the importance of a consistent, nurturing environment, as well as complex and challenging activities for every child’s emotional, cognitive, linguistic and motor development. We believe that all children are unique and should be encouraged to give their minds and hearts a voice.

We invite you to visit our program, whether your child is a tiny newborn, an curious toddler, and active three year old, an enthusiastic four year old or an eager, questioning five year old. They are all welcome and we look forward to making a difference in the lives of all children.

- Our Teachers -

Infant Teachers

My name is Carmen Sanchez and I am the Infant Teacher at Kiddie Koop. I’ve been working here for about 14 years, but have been working with children since I was a young teenager. I really love my job!

My name is Lydia Rodriguez. I’ve been teaching for 10 years. Teaching for me is being able to help develop each child’s enthusiasm for learning, creating, and providing each child a clean, safe, comfortable, loving environment where they can play and learn.

Toddler 1 Teachers

My name is Jacqueline Tejada. I’m a bilingual teacher for young toddlers in Kiddie Koop. I started working with children in June 2000; working with children for 12+ years. I love kids and I really enjoy working with them.

Hi, my name is Yamirka Batista and I am the bus driver and a teacher assistant I have been working at Kiddie Koop for almost 2 years. As a bus driver I enjoy driving, singing songs on the bus, and also picking up and dropping off kids. As, a teacher assistant I enjoy working with the kids during circle time, singing songs, and playing games.

Toddler 2 Teachers

Hi my name is Maria Velasquez. This November will mark my 2nd year as a toddler teacher here at Kiddie Koop. I enjoy watching the children I teach develop into their own character. I am currently working on my Early Childhood Education degree. I look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of your children.

I’m Maria Vargas, I have been working as a teacher since 1997. My career started at L.E.O. Head Start working with children the ages of 3-5 years old. I worked there for 3 years and then came to Kiddie Koop Day Care in 2003. I’m currently teaching 2 year olds in the toddler room. I love working with kids of any ages and enjoy each child’s learning development.

Preschool 1 Teachers

My name is Margarita Ramos. I’ve been teaching for 14 years. One of the most important things about teaching is being able to explore diverse issues and situations. I enjoy sharing my experiences and the ability to help children achieve their best.

Preschool 2 Teachers

My name is Amy Trefry. I have been teaching preschool for 7 years. I began my education in Early Childhood Education in High School in 2002. I continued to take college courses and received my Infant and Toddler/Lead Preschool Certification through the Department of Early Education and Care. I will soon be applying to become Director 1 certified. The best part of teaching for me is when a child repeats/applies something that I have taught them and proves that they’ve “got it!”. It makes me proud to know that I played such a large role in their development.

Preschool 3 Teachers

My name is Marta Ramirez. I have been in the education field for more than 20 years and I love to teach. I have been a preschool lead teacher at Kiddie Koop for 12 years. Teaching is my passion and I love to make a difference in children’s lives because I know that these kids are tomorrow’s future.
