Revere Center

Our Revere center is located across the street from A.C. Whelan Elementary School, on the corner of Cushman Avenue and Newhall Street. Only minutes from Logan Airport and Boston, Cushman Avenue/Sargent Street provides easy access to Routes 1, 60 and 107.

Architecturally designed renovations to the Revere center have been made with care given to the best of day care center design and safety. The contemporary building offers children bright, comfortable spaces in which to learn and play. The center is fully carpeted and includes five large rooms, two of which are specifically designed and equipped for infants and toddlers. Science, music, reading, art and other age appropriate educational areas are located throughout the center, which can accommodate 70 children.

The Director

Lucille Giso (pictured at left with associate director Madeline DeMarco) has worked as a child care professional for 17 years, and has continuously built her knowledge and skills through workshops and community activities involving early childhood education. She loves her work and continually marvels at its challenges and rewards.
Lucille experiences the children at the Revere center as "wonderful little people," and thrives on their humor, curiosity and creativity. She respects their feelings, thoughts and beliefs, and feels they should be treated and nurtured as unique individuals.
Lucille has recently guided Kiddie Koop Revere’s application for the highly regarded N.A.E.Y.C. accreditation, with the help of the City of Revere’s Community Partnership Program.

I am Infant/Toddler certified as well as Preschool Teacher certified through EEC. I plan to further my education by obtaining my CDA and by taking more college classes. I consider myself to be a kind and caring teacher who takes pride in my job.

Young Toddler Teachers

My name is Denise Hudson. I live in Revere and I have two children, ages 19 and 22, both college students. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in both Sociology and Psychology from UMass Boston. As a college student I worked at the university’s day care center and as a copy editor or the school newspaper, as a work study student. I’ve also worked as a billing and coding coordinator at a doctor’s office at Tufts Medical Center. I currently work with the young toddlers. I try to teach them certain social skills (respect for each other as well as themselves), and I focus on their language development. We try to have fun as we learn through play and our daily routines.

Older Toddler Teachers

My name is Debra Juliano. I became a teacher because my daughter Dawn was special needs and because she had a wonderful special needs teacher. When my daughter passed I decided to go to school to become a teacher because there were not enough teachers.

My name is Margie. I currently work as a teacher assistant. I work in all the classes with all different ages. I enjoy my job because it’s always a challenge. It’s a very rewarding feeling to see the growth in every child.

I enjoyed this so much that I took early childhood development in high school. I worked for the Revere Public School system for 10 years. I took a little break and managed a bakery in Revere. I felt incomplete and it was just a job to me, nothing more. I soon realized I needed to go back to working with children, because this is my passion in life. I now proudly work at Kiddie Koop.
